Female Resilience

Two TRU students, highlighting local stories of female resilience.

About us

We are two female TRU students, Cassidy and Mya, who have spent this term documenting local stories of female resilience. Our topics specifically highlight stories of Indigenous women and women breaking down stereotypes, and demanding space in male dominated fields. All of the work on this website is our own work. We are proud of this work, since it is about topics that we are truly passionate about. Cassidy’s main interested concerns women who have demanded space is a male-dominated field. Mya’s main interests concerns female resilience under an Indigenous lens.

Meet the team

Two students, highlighting local stories of female resilience.

Mya Strutz

Main focus; stories of Indigenous female resilience.

Mya is a third year student, currently taking her Bachelor of Arts, as an English Major and Sociology Minor. Mya grew increasingly invested in the topic of female resilience, after taking a number of feminist focused English and Sociology courses. Additionally, Mya is specifically interested in the resilience of Indigenous Women, since she has grown up learning about Indigenous Peoples and their stories.

Cassidy Wight

Main focus; women demanding space in male dominated fields.

Cassidy is a fifth year student, currently taking her Bachelor of Arts, as a Psychology Major. Cassidy will graduate in December 2026. Cassidy grew interested in the topic of female resilience after taking many feminist-based English courses. A fun fact about Cassidy is that she has been taking dance classes since the age of 5.
